Andorra, known as the Pyrenean Country, is an independent state lying in the mountain range separating Spain and France.
Despite being one of the world’s twenty smallest countries, with just 486 square kilometres of land surface, Andorra is internationally recognised.
Andorra has also been a full member of the United Nations since 1993.

Andorra is host to a peaceful population of 84,484 inhabitants from a hundred different countries. This results in a vast linguistic variety, with Catalan being the official language.
Thanks to Andorra’s cultural diversity, Catalan, a Romance language, coexists in the same territory with other languages, such as Spanish, French and Portuguese, among others.
Andorra’s Constitution text was approved in 1993 and it defines the country as a sovereign state with a parliamentary co-principality. Although not part of the European Union, it is part of the Euro zone, with a powerful currency that is proving strong in the world's economy.
The country's capital city is Andorra la Vella, home of two of its main national institutions: the General Council of the Valleys or Parliament and the Government.

Andorra’s modern communications infrastructure reflects the country’s desire to maintain and enhance the good relations it has with its neighbours.
Andorra receives around 11 million tourists each year. In fact, the country’s economy is practically based on tourism and commerce.
This strong financial activity is also seen in the dynamism of various banks that have international presence; amongst them, Crèdit Andorrà, the first banking group in Andorra.

One of Andorra’s qualities is the ever-present nature in its purest form, and its landscape characterised by the river that runs through it, the Valira. In addition, over 90% of Andorra's landscape is made of green areas.
The vast recreational and cultural features during summer and winter attract nearly 11 million visitors every year.
Andorra is one of Europe’s ski havens. The Grandvalira, Vallnord and Camp de Neu de la Rabassa resorts include the largest area in the Pyrenees where to practice this sport.
The resorts provide the latest technology and offer the highest comfort to skiers. A total of over 3,000 hectares and 300 kilometres of track await skiers in Andorra.
Visits to Romanesque monuments, one of the country’s main charms, will complement any tourist timetable.
